Getting Things Done

So I’ve been a victim (or perpetrator) of being horrendously inefficient with managing my time. I probably have 300 different to-do lists, project lists, or other items requiring my attention and/or action. I’ve decided that I can’t afford the lost time/opportunities anymore, and in the tried-and-true method followed by millions at this time of year, I’m making a resolution to change.

I just finished reading Getting Things Done by David Allen, and I’ve got several tools and tricks that I’m going to use with the recommendations therein. I’ve also decided to more completely commit to the “30 days” paradigm that I’ve been dabbling with for the past few months - originally inspired by the 30 Days to Success article by Steve Pavlina. In order to provide some additional impetus, I’m going to commit to making semi-regular blog posts about my 30-days experiences.

For the first 30 days - starting today and proceeding through the end of January - I’ll be committing to a daily implementation of the Getting Things Done system and to posting my results and thoughts. Wish me luck, and if I seem to be slacking, please feel free to get on my case!
